San Diego broke ground in March on the new $555 million San Diego Central Courthouse — one of the most expensive public office building ever and the largest to be funded by California’s Senate Bill 1407.

Construction on the New United States Courthouse – Los Angeles officially began after more than a decade of planning. The U.S. General Services Administration awarded Bethesda, Md.-headquartered Clark Construction Group the design-build contract for the project in December 2012, and about 10 months ago, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, LLP (SOM) beat out three other shortlisted architecture teams in a national design competition process to win the $318 million project.

Stanislaus County to Select Site for New Courthouse

Though budgetary constraints continue to push the construction date of the new $277.2 million Stanislaus County Courthouse further and further back, the county has now identified a preferred site for future construction.
