Ore. Gov. Proposes Cuts to Youth Authority

The governor of Oregon has called for deep cuts to the budget of the Oregon Youth Authority - creating a scenario of removing 425 beds and eliminating more than 300 jobs.

Oregon Faces 14 Percent Growth in Prison Population

The state prison population will increase by an estimated 14 percent to a record level of approximately 16,000 inmates during the next six years, according to population projections by state’s Office of Economic Analysis.
