Kern County Justice Facility Closer to Construction

Work on the new $100.5 million Kern County Justice Facility in Bakersfield is on track to begin in August 2015. This first phase of construction is scheduled to wrap up by June 2017, and is being built with the aid of the state’s AB 900 funding allocation.

Stanton Correctional Facility Prepares for July Debut

The new 127,800-square-foot Stanton Correctional Facility in Fairfield will debut in July, about two years after construction broke ground. The 362-bed maximum security adult detention facility is one of the first group of projects to be financed by the State AB 900 funding, which approved $1.2 billion in jail construction funding due to overcrowding and realignment issues.

New Solano County Jail to Help Balance Inmate Population

Solano County has design plans in hand for a new jail in Fairfield, Calif., which will help combat overcrowding in the county’s two other jail facilities. The county is currently seeking contracting bids for the project, which is slated for completion in 2014.
