Coffee County Jail is Once Again State Certified

After losing its state certification due to overcrowding and understaffing in 2012, the Coffee County Jail in Manchester was recently re-certified by the Tennessee Corrections Institute (TCI), which establishes minimum standards for adult local jails, lock-ups, workhouses and detention facilities in the state.

New Coffee County Jail to Start Accepting Inmates

A tentative move-in date for inmates to transfer to the nearly $20 million Coffee County Jail in Manchester is set for May 4. Construction crews are wrapping up interior concrete finishing work on the new jail while officials are moving items from the old jail.

Coffee County Plans to Use Old Jail
