Seneca County to Build Joint Justice Center

This fall, construction will begin on the new Seneca County Joint Justice Center in Tiffin. A first of its kind in Ohio, the approximately $14.4 million courts facility will serve both the city and county, housing the city of Tiffin’s Municipal Court and Clerk of the Courts as well as the county’s Common Pleas Court, Clerk of the Courts and Probation Department.

San Diego Grand Jury Critiques Adult Correctional Facilities

San Diego jails could be doing more to support inmate education and successful reentry, according to a new report released June 1. Authored by a San Diego County Grand Jury tasked with reviewing correctional facilities and operations, the report highlights multiple areas within the county’s seven adult detention facilities requiring improvement.

Metro-Davidson Criminal Justice Center to Begin Construction

Construction on the new Metro-Davidson Criminal Justice Center is scheduled to start soon after the design phase is completed in July. Initial work would include demolition of the old jail located on Second Avenue in downtown Nashville.

The American Jail Association’s (AJA) 35th Annual Conference & Jail Expo took place on May 22-25, in Austin. AJA’s Annual Conference & Jail Expo is the only national event that focuses on local jails, according to the association. Since the event took place in Austin, it was co-hosted by the Travis County Sheriff’s Department.
