Correctional staff can quickly screen handfuls of mail or small packages with the Scanmail 10K from Scanna MSC Ltd. The unit detects common mailbomb components regardless of the type of explosives used, plastic or otherwise.

The Scanmail 10K provides both visual and audible alarms on suspect packages and their components, such as batteries, detonators, razor blades and weapons. The unit also can bypass ordinary metallic stationary items such as paperclips and staples, reducing disruption and delay in mailroom procedures.

Measuring 16" x 18" x 9", the 18 lb. unit is portable and can be moved to reception areas for spot checks on hand-delivered items and courier deliveries. A switchable power supply (110/220 volts, 50/60 Hz) is backed up by a 12-volt battery.
