FLIR Systems Inc. now offers the Griffin 844, the latest addition to its Griffin 800-series desktop chemical trace detector product line used to screen personal belongings, parcels, cargo, skin, vehicles, and other surfaces for explosives and narcotics threats. Built around FLIR’s exclusive mass spectrometry technology, the lightweight, portable Griffin 844 provides much higher resolution compared to existing ion mobility spectrometry technology. As a result, the Griffin 844 yields significantly lower false alarm rates. The Griffin 844 also performs dual-mode detection for a range of current threats as well as commonly abused narcotics and synthetic drugs. FLIR’s expandable library allows new threats to be added to the library without impacting sensitivity or false alarm rates. FLIR’s menu-based GSS Touch application eliminates data interpretation and streamlines checkpoint operations. The Griffin 844’s innovative system design ensures fast and reliable clear-down that minimizes maintenance to maximize operational availability.
