The Cross Match ID 500 is a portable, live scan system available from Cross Match Technologies Inc.
Using an integrated touchscreen display, the automated system senses the placement of a finger and captures the image without manual intervention or keystrokes. A built-in magnetic stripe reader scans demographic data from a driver’s license to reduce booking time.
Resolution of captured images is approximately 500 dpi. The system can interface with all major AFIS systems and communicate online via TCP/IP, LAN, NFS, FTP and SMTP e-mail.
A quality check feature is available, which will assess fingerprint quality and provide feedback to the user.
The scanner weighs 11.5 pounds and includes a carrying handle and a cover for portable use.
Omnikey, a manufacturer of smart card readers, has developed a PC-linked desktop reader that is specifically designed to work with a standard HID proximity card. The CardMan 5125 reads the unique card number from any HID proximity card. Based on a 125 kHz RFID interface that reads the card number from HID proximity cards, the product allows organizations to implement new PC-linked applications without the need to re-badge cardholders.
The reader is compatible with a range of systems, from a 26-bit format to a Corporate 1000 format. A USB connection makes installation fast, while the reader design offers users a variety of mounting and card presentation options. The reader also offers contact smart card reading/writing capability in the same desktop device.
Secura Key announces the release of the newest product in the e*Tag family of 13.56 MHz RFID readers. The ET8-WTD is designed to mount into a standard electrical box and use a Decora-style faceplate. Available in white and ivory, the reader meets the aesthetic requirements of many business applications.
The readers work with DES-encrypted cards and key tags from the manufacturers, but can also read any ISO 15693 RFID tag. The industry-standard Wiegand output makes this reader compatible with most access control systems. The line of reader/writers comply with the latest ISO 15693 and 14443A standards for interoperability and are suitable for all types of automatic identification and data collection applications.
