John King

Minnesota Department of Corrections has appointed John King, a 30-year veteran of the DOC, as the new assistant commissioner of the facility services division. King’s experience includes working with various correctional facilities and the department’s central office. After beginning his career as a correctional officer, King held several accounting and supervisory positions. He served as associate warden of operations and warden at the Stillwater facility. Most recently, he served as warden of Lino Lakes. During his career, King was part of the staff that opened the Oak Park Heights prison in 1982 and the Rush City prison in 2000.
