Patrick Firman

Patrick Firman was recently appointed sheriff of Denver County in Colorado. In his new role, Firman will lead the Denver County Sheriff’s Department, which includes two jails, nearly 900 employees and a budget of approximately $131 million. Prior to his appointment, Firman was employed as a private contractor and consultant, working with law enforcement departments on correctional facility operations and management. From 2009 to 2014 he served as deputy chief of corrections for the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office in Woodstock, Ill. Prior to that, Firman was employed by Lake County, Ill., sheriff’s office in a variety of roles including corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, deputy chief of corrections and chief of corrections. He began his correctional career with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in 1990 as a correctional officer.
