Donald Stolworthy

Donald Stolworthy recently announced his resignation as head of the Illinois Department of Corrections. Stolworthy has served in the post for two months and did not give a reason for his departure. He formerly served as a member of the U.S. State Department’s prison bureau, and managed five prison construction projects in Iraq during his tenure as deputy director of operations and warden advisor for the U.S. Justice Department. Stolworthy also formerly worked in the Alaska Department of Corrections as a special assistant to the governor. He began his corrections career in Alaska as a probation and parole officer.
