Debut of New DEC Company

BOYERTON, Pa. — Detention Equipment Contractors (DECs) are steadily picking up speed again after a couple financially troubling years. Isaac Kriens, who held several positions at United Prison Equipment during his seven and a half years, including former senior project manager, project manager and director of sales and marketing, has ventured off to launch his own DEC company, Absolute Detention LLC.

Kriens officially formed the company in April of this year and is anxiously awaiting his first contract. Over his seven and a half years in the industry he has seen the changes in the market and notes the current trend to be moving towards more renovation projects “such as window replacements because of the increased incentive for energy efficiency due to the return on investment.”

Absolute Detention will begin to operate mostly on the northeast, considering Kriens contacts and familiarity with the region, although plans to expand are expected in the future.

Starting one’s own company is always a gamble and Kriens has felt the challenges but embraces his decision.

“I am more anxious than excited. It is now just working for myself and not for anyone else,” Kriens said. “Getting approved to bid jobs is going to be a major challenge. That is why I am going to focus on the northeast to start. I have the most contacts and experience working in that area.”

The company is strictly a DEC and offers a full-service, turnkey package to clients. If you’re interested in finding out more information about Absolute Detention, please contact Isaac Kriens at isac1313@aol.com or (484) 366-2720.
