John Mayes

John Mayes was appointed to serve another five years on the Georgia Board of Corrections as chairman. Having worked with a number of inmates and their families on various issues, Mayes gained knowledge and experience after his first five-year term on the board. A Floyd County commissioner for 14 years, Mayes has been tending to prisoners in many ways, from attending special programs to celebrate their accomplishments to arranging ways for inmates to attend funerals with family. Owner of Pro Systems Clean Care Inc., Mayes is the 18-member board’s 14th Congressional District representative.
