Craig Turnbull

Superintendent Craig Turnbull has retired after 22 years with the corrections industry. In 1991, Turnbull began his career with the Alaska Department of Corrections as a correctional officer I at Spring Creek Correctional Center (SCCC). He was then promoted to correctional officer III four years later. Turnbull also held other major roles, including shift supervisor, sergeant and assistant superintendent. He was instrumental in bringing the Youthful Offender Program (YOP), a partnership between the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District and the Department of Corrections, to Spring Creek.
