Peter Obarowski, AIA, was promoted to principal at AECOM in the Arlington, Va.-based office. Obarowski has more than 23 years of experience in the justice design field, with a particular focus on detention/correctional facilities. Having designed and managed projects totaling more than 18,000 correctional beds, Obarowski has broad skills in correctional facility design and construction.

Beyond the architectural design practice, Obarowski has a strong background in security planning and design, with a deep understanding of the electronic and physical security needs of varying levels of correctional facilities. His clients include federal, state and county agencies across the country, and he is a licensed architect in eight states.
