Sierra Detention Systems named Keith Thoene chief operations officer. The move comes in response to the company's growth in projects across the U.S. and its desire to bolster the operations team. Thoene began work at Sierra in 2001. As chief operating officer, he will be leading and supporting Sierra’s operations with Bobby Butler and Mike Rypkema.
Sierra also brought on Bobby Butler, LEED AP, as operations manager in the past year to oversee and manage all projects through the Western, Central, and Southern United States, streamlining processes and manpower, allocating new and existing resources, starting and developing regional offices, and researching news areas for development. Butler comes to Sierra from The Well Partnership Inc., where he logged four years as a senior project manager, and five years before that as a project engineer with Hensel Phelps Construction Co., gaining experience with construction methods, contract administration, construction law, and the analysis of project financials and cost controls.
Sierra Detention Systems also named Casey Kime as the director of quality control. Kime will be responsible for the quality control of all projects, including the review and submittal of all documents, in-house and field testing, and training, both internal and for clients. Kime began work for the company in 2004 and assisted with project engineering and management. Prior to that, he worked for Latta Technical Services, an engineering consulting firm. Kime is a member of ASIS, ACA, and AJA.
