Sierra Announces September DEC Forum

BRIGHTON Colo. — In response to changes in the Detention Equipment Contracting/Manufacturing sector, a DEC forum has been organized for Sept. 23-26, in Avon, Colo.

The Forum is intended to recognize and address these changes, while raising the bar of performance and quality for the DEC community.

Round table discussions will be held and particular emphasis will be placed on general industry market conditions, building better customer relationships, the annually published DEC rankings through accurate reporting, and industry-wide DEC certifications.

There are other issues of a general industry nature that will be discussed, all within the criteria that avoids the obvious anti-trust issues.  These items will be added to the agenda and distributed to each participant by Sept. 17, 2010.

Sierra Detention Systems has underwritten the costs associated with legal counsel to maintain the highest standards of integrity for the forum. Each participant will be advised of and asked to acknowledge the non-collusion affidavit. This affidavit will be forwarded to each participant two weeks prior to the commencement of the Forum. The acknowledgement of this agreement is mandatory for attendance.

To further promote and ensure transparency, Eli Gage, publisher of Correctional News magazine, will be on site during the wrap-up session to cover the results of the forum in the upcoming DEC issue of the magazine.

Currently, several companies have pledged their participation at the event.

The response deadline for DEC’s wishing to attend the Forum is Friday, Sept. 3, 2010. Please contact Jennifer Thoene at jthoene@sierradetentionsystems.com or (720) 881-6807 to RSVP and receive additional details.
