International design firm HOK appointed Zorana Bosnic director of sustainable design at its San Francisco office. Bosnic will focus on environmental design research and work with each of the firm’s project teams to integrate sustainable design principles.

William D. Hamilton, AIA, LEED AP, joined architectural, engineering and planning firm Cannon Design as principal and director of quality. Hamilton will lead the firm’s quality assurance and control initiatives. He has almost 40 years of architectural experience, including justice, higher education and healthcare projects.

Skanska USA Building Co. hired Edward Belbusti as regional design manager of southeast operations. Belbusti will oversee architecture and design operations for projects in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas. Prior to joining Skanska, he served as university architect and director of architecture and construction at Vanderbilt University.

Lenette Wells, AIA, was promoted to architect at Entech Engineering Inc., of Reading, Pa., after successfully completing the Architects Registration Exam. Wells will work in the firm’s facilities planning and design group and continue her work on sustainable building design, historic preservation and project management.

Kelcie Robinson and Ray Finkel, of Las Vegas-based SH Architecture, recently passed their LEED exams and received the LEED AP credential. Robinson and Finkel will work on the firm’s sustainable projects in multiple markets.

Leo A Daly appointed Michelle Frediani director of business development at the firm’s Phoenix office. In her new role, Frediani will maintain and establish client relationships within the Phoenix metropolitan area and portions of the southwestern United States.

Mead & Hunt, an architectural, engineering and planning firm, announced five new hires: Krysten Tesch, Ian Neill, Clint Doberstein, Rebecca Shumate and Nicholas Beutler. Tesch joined the architecture team and will be responsible for preparing technical documents; Neill will work with structural support systems; Doberstein and Beutler will serve as CAD technicians. Shumate joined the firm as a CAD technician and will assist engineering staff with water resource and civil engineering projects.

Beatrice Bastidas joined IBA Consultants, of Boca Raton, Fla., as a consultant. She brings 25 years of design and construction experience to the position and will focus on waterproofing- and roofing-related projects with the company’s south Florida clients. Prior to joining IBA, Bastidas worked with Ocean Land Investments, of Boca Raton, as a project manager.

JE Dunn, a national construction company, appointed Mike Castillo senior vice president and chief operating officer for the southwest division and Bob Maxwell senior vice president of business development and marketing. Castillo has 26 years of experience in project leadership and Maxwell has more than 10 years of project experience. Both previously worked at Rudolph & Sletten.

BI Inc., a Boulder, Colo.-based manufacturer of monitoring technology and a treatment services provider for community corrections agencies, announced the appointment of Bruce Thacher as president and CEO. Thacher previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at the company for four years and has more than 30 years of managerial experience.

The company also named Andrea Young CIO, vice president of development. She will be responsible for overseeing the company’s information technology systems and software development team. Young has more than 20 years of experience in information technology systems and served recently as chief technology officer and senior vice president of information technology for Janus Capital Group.

Corrections Corporation of America promoted Bart VerHulst to vice president, local and federal customer relations, and Brad Regens to vice president, state customer relations. VerHulst formerly served as managing director of federal and local customer relations, and Regens was formerly senior director of state customer relations. Both work at CCA’s Nashville, Tenn., office.

Yoo-Jae Kim, PE, a project engineer with High Concrete Group LLC, earned the LEED AP credential. As a LEED AP professional, Kim will provide assistance and guidance on energy saving and environmental performance to ensure new precast concrete buildings are designed sustainably.

The Bodine Co., a manufacturer of emergency lighting products, announced the appointment of John Levesque to general manager. Bodine has been with the company for more than 20 years and has held several senior management positions, serving most recently as national sales manager. 

Ken DeMarco joined the northeastern office of NAC Products, a supplier of self-adhering flooring products, as a sales representative. DeMarco will manage the company’s Virgina, Maryland, District of Columbia, New York and New Jersey clients. He brings more than 27 years of experience to the position.

International supplier Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc. hired John Marlar, Wesley Grubb and Ken Congelosi as sales representatives and Lisa Fischer as marketing coordinator. Nick Leiner was promoted to regional sales manager.

Danfoss A/S, a developer of mechanical and electronic components and systems, announced the retirement of its president and CEO, Jorgen M. Clausen. Clausen will be replaced by Niels B. Christiansen, who will serve as chairman of the Denmark-based company starting in spring 2009. Christiansen joined the company in 2004 as chief operating officer and a member of the executive committee.

Lori Espinosa was appointed lead customer service support at National Coatings Corp. She will be responsible for all customer service operations at the company’s corporate office in Camarillo, Calif. The company also hired Jessica Ortiz as a customer sales and support member. In her new position, Ortiz will oversee customer service and sales support at the company’s corporate office and will work with the outside sales team.
